American actress, Lisa Raye, has been crowned as a queen mother of Agona Kwanyanko in the central region of Ghana.

Legit.ng understands that the enstoolment ceremony was held on Sunday, September 22, 2019.

According to thesource.com, Raye was named as queen mother because of her humanitarian efforts.

She was chosen for the role by the paramount chief of Agona Kwanyako, the chiefs, and the entire Kyidom Traditional Divisional Council.

Reacting to the appointment, Raye stated that the honour is beyond her wildest imagination.

She went on to say that she would do her best to use her position to direct positive attention to the region.

It was learnt that Raye is the former First Lady of Turks and Caicos from a previous marriage.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that popular Hollywood actor, Steve Harvey, and his family made a significant visit to Ghana’s slave castle, calling it the-year-of-the-return.

On his instagram page, the popular TV personality said that he could feel his ancestors on him in a way he could not explain.

He therefore asked everyone to go home and have the same experience, adding that the strength of everyone’s ancestors is on them.
