It was one of the comebacks in the Champions League as Roma who were down by 4-1 to Barcelona in the first leg, won the second leg by 3-0.
The fans at the Stadio Olympico were given a good performance on the night as Roma qualified into the last four of the Champions League.
The Romans quickly got into the thick of things as De Rossi's long pass from the half-way line found Edin Dzeko who ran in between Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba, as he controlled and scored the opener.
It was 1-0 to Roma after just eight minutes into the match as Barcelona were stunned by the early strike from the rejuvenated Bosnia who recorded his third goal in three consecutive Champions League matches.
Valverde's side tried to keep possession to get hold of the game but the Serie A side mounted pressure as they forced mistakes from Umtiti, Alba and Pique but failed to capitalize as it ended 1-0 at half time.

The Italians spectacularly took the lead from a the spot-kick as Dzeko was brought down in the box by Pique and the referee points to the spot for a penalty brandishing yellow card.
De Rossi who scored an own goal in the first leg converted the resulting spot-kick as the tie was thrown open. It was 2-0 to Roma as the Eusebio Di Francesco led side just needed one more goal to level the aggregate.

The highly entertaining fixture took a massive turnaround as Lionel Messi was lucky not have received a red card after tripping Aleksandar Kolarov from behind but was booked in the 62nd minute.
Barca became the defensive cautious side as Roma were the more confident side. De Rossi had a great opportunity to put the tie to bed, but sends his header wide off the goal in the 69th minute.
Luis Suraez got a silly yellow card for kicking the ball away in frustration. It was Konstantinos Manolas who got the fans on their feet with a glancing header from a corner-kick eight minutes from time as it became 3-0 to Roma.
At this point it was a 4-4 aggregate score but Roma had the away goal advantage and Barca knew they needed to score to stand a chance of qualifying into the next round.
Messi forced a fine save from Alisson Becker with a directed shot on target as Suarez also had a great chance to score as his effort was blocked by the resilient Roma defence.
The Catalan side threw all they had at Roma but their defence stood their ground as the match ended in an emphatic 3-0 scoreline and 4-4 on aggregate as the Italian side qualified into the last four.
